I lived in Breckenridge for about 4 months in the winter. I lived across from the Beaver Run resort near Peak 9. I paid $1000/month for a one bedroom with a small closet room. My roommate got the closet room so it was OK. Living at 10,000 feet elevation was brutal. I’d run 3 feet and be winded, drink 2 beers and be drunk. I never really became a very good skier. I went out every day and didn’t improve much. Little kids would ski past me and do jumps and tricks.
My apartment was in the right side of this picture.
A few friends from Michigan visited. We’re standing in the Walmart parking lot. A lot of the city was designed to charge tourists one price and locals another. I remember a discount card at the grocery stores gave about 50% off.
