Japan has these strange places called hostess clubs. The gist is that men pay to go and have women pour them drinks, laugh at their jokes and make them feel important. No sex involved and not at all like a strip club, yet the bill can run in the thousands of dollars. There are also male hosts, but they are pathetic. They hang out on the street chasing down women in hopes that the women will pay to get sweet talked.
