Tokyo and Japanese Elvis Dancers

I lived in Tokyo for 2 months in 2005. My apartment was between Shinjuku and Shibuya, two of the most crowded places in the world. My room was about 50 square feet and I shared a kitchen and bathroom. I taught a few English lessons and toured the sites. I’d sing karaoke once in awhile and see Japanese business men in suits singing by themselves.

Below are Japanese dancers rocking out to Elvis in Odaiba. I sat and watched them for about an hour, but nobody else even gave them a glance. One of the guys shaved part of his head to create a widow’s peak.

I lived about a ten minute walk from this intersection. I showed up during rush hour at the train station to watch the people get pushed onto the train.
