My Australian friend from Melbourne, Tony, took us on a tour of the Great Ocean Road on the southern coast of Australia. It was an amazing trip and the scenery was great. There were beaches on every turn. I have to admit the flies were fairly bad a few times, but I was learning the Australian Salute (never ending fly swat)
Here’s a quiet beach near the Twelve Apostles. We climbed down the rocky coast to reach the golden sand.
We tried to climb up the waterfall. The rock was slippery so I only made it about halfway.

I definitely had the wrong shoes for walking through a rainforest. This was just minutes from Lorne, a touristy town a couple hours from Melbourne. Strangely we were watching a tennis match at a bar in Lorne. With just a couple games to go in the close match, the bar closed and told everybody to leave. I asked myself, WWCND (What would Chuck Norris do)

This is the 12 Apostles, probably the most famous landmark along the Great Ocean Road.

This is Bells Beach, made famous by the movie Point Break. Patrick Swayze catches a huge wave at the end of the movie to seal his fate.
