I went to the Homestead Rodeo yesterday. It had it all; cowgirls, rodeo clowns, bulls, a crazy rodeo announcer. I showed up late so I only got to see about an hour but at least I didn’t have to pay. And, it left me wanting more!
Here a cowgirl races around the cones.

I took a canoe trip into the Everglades yesterday. There was this deadbeat pelican following us around, looking for a handout. I think it was hovering for about an hour.
It’s amazing how the trees reflect off the water. We took a narrow path through mangroves to Coot Bay Pond. We took a wrong turn and […]

This gazebo has been my office for the last month or so. Can’t complain. It’s about 75 degrees every day with a nice, cool breeze blowing through. I pile a few cushions up and sit with my laptop. That’s the beauty of working on the internet.

I went to a winery that uses tropical fruits like mangoes and star fruit. We did a wine stomp, crushing star fruit into the buckets. I dominated and beat these little kids by a few minutes. I think I win a bottle of wine, but they’re gonna call me to go pick it up.

While there’s plenty of cool people at youth hostels, there’s always a few crazies. Here’s a couple profiles. I’m tempted to show their pictures, but I won’t

I took a canoe trip from Card Sound road to Short Key. We braved the rough waters and about 2 hours later landed on Short Key. Remnants of previous parties showed over the island. We shared the beach that night with about 30 high school girls from a local school. I sprayed half a can […]

I made a trip to the Fruit and Spice Park in Homestead, FL. It was a bit of a disappointment, especially because we had to pay. I was imagining a huge tropical garden filled with palm trees and tropical plants with huge leaves. There were banana trees and a couple other interesting trees. Some type […]

I went fishing in the Everglades today. We strapped a canoe on this tiny car and rowed around in alligator infested waters. Seriously we canoed past dozens of them. Fortunately they sleep in the afternoon. We caught about 5 or 6 fish, then the alligators started to inhabit our fishing area, and we didn’t catch […]

I took a canoe trip through the mangroves at John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo, FL. It was nice, but a bit short. We lasted about an hour and finished the trail. Canoing was $12/hr.
People were fishing off of this tiny island in the water.

I’m back in Michigan to visit the fam and friends for xmas. I always take hikes along Lake Michigan.
Once in awhile people ask if they can use my pictures for publications. It’s probably not because I’m that great of a photographer, more likely it’s the exposure that my websites have.
