The town of Zakopane is the gateway to the Tatra Mountains in Southern Poland. I’ve been there several times and it always involved a long and confusing bus ride from Krakow. Although it’s only 2 hours, there were always some arguments between the people who had tickets and those who didn’t. Also, some old babushkas would get on the bus and we’d end up standing. There are some amazing hikes and the air is very fresh. It was rumored that Polish people would work in the United States, make a lot of money, and then come back to Poland and build a big house in Zakopane.

We didn’t realize how big the mountain was until we were about half way up. The ski lift was shut down and the snow was up to our knees. It was great exercise!
I believe this is Lake Morskie Oko

Melany and a donkey. I’m not sure how she found it.
